Would You Hang Precariously Over a Pit of Crocodiles? On This Terrifying Zipline You Can

Can you imagine dangling over a pit of crocodiles? And, would you willingly put yourself in this position?

At the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park in Florida, thrill-seekers are doing just that.

The attraction gives visitors the chance to enjoy a bird's-eye view of fearsome species like crocodiles, alligators, caiman and gharial. It's proved to be very popular, with 200,000 flocking here every year.

Park director John Brueggen said: "Challenge courses are becoming very popular in the US. We wanted to make a unique one that allowed you to see more than just the ground."

And, there is no question that this one is unique.

"Ours allows visitors to see a fantastic zoo from a bird's eye perspective," Brueggen added.

And perhaps it's not as terrifying as you might think, as each rider is clipped in with at least two safety lanyards, so the odds of becoming the next meal for one of the animals is pretty slim.

The park opened back in 1893 to exhibit the American alligator, and aims to promote wildlife conservation and education boasting all 24 species of living crocodilian. It's also home to lemurs, exotic birds and pythons.
